Hi, Trying to install Peppermint 4 on a IBM Mpro (over 700mb or ram , 80 gig hd, P3 dual processors 1gig, ) very good machine at it's time but just want to install something lightweight. I had Tiny xp on it and it ran great but want to go in the Linux direction , I tried Ubuntu but it can't keep up . The problems that I'm trying to install via iso cd which i get the Logo with menus I select on install and the install bar will go half way and that's it ,I tried it live same thing ,it will just sit there, I swapped the video card , on the screen there are a bunch of digits and that is it . I tried on my other PC and I can get it to run , but want to get it to run on the IBM. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Try installing from a "liive" session, but don't tell it to get updates during the installation

If that doesn't work, boot to a Live session and post the output from:
Code:
sudo fdisk -l

and
Code:
sudo blkid

Thanks for replying, I tried going to the live selection but it hangs up . It won't get to that menu . How can you boot to a live session?

Thanks

Boot the machine from either a PM USB or CD and choose "Try Peppermint OS Live" instead of "Install Peppermint OS"
