Would it be possible?
Or even advisable?
Maybe as a dual boot?

There is NO ARM port of Peppermint .. so unless there's an x86 emulator for Android, then NOPE :(

The Nexus 7 looks like it has far better hardware than my current home computer (eeepc 1025c) and with a usb/bluetooth keyboard it could actually substitute it ... and it would even cost less!

But I fear the current Android environment is not enough for my needs.
I'm used to browsing on Chrome with about 10 tabs open.
I'm used to SublimeText3 for my coding.
Etc.
Gaming and multimedia can only improve, as Asus killed all support for linux on my machine, so no good drivers exist (Peppermint4 actually improved my situation a LOT, but many things still don't work).

Before you buy .. how much flash content do you use ?

AFAIK, there's no Adobe Flash player for Android 4.4 (KitKat) .. I've not yet tested if there's a workable way round this yet .. I read that some browsers (Puffin) support degraded flash, but haven't tried it (my son has a Nexus7).

Or you can root the Nexus and bung CyanogenMod on it .. again I've not tested this.

All I'm saying is do your homework first ;)

I live a fairly Flash-free life even right now... so it shouldn't be a problem ;)

I'm a bit familiar with the various ROMs available for Android (my glorious HTC Desire HD still kicks ass running Android 4.2.2 thanks to its JellyTime ROM).
My worry is: I dabble in web development (HTML,CSS and am learning Javascript and Angular) and I am not sure if, under Android + some kind of usb/bluetooth keyboard, I would find comfortable substitutes for SublimeText3, Gimp, Nginx, Python, etc...
