I recently up-graded to Peppermint 3. Since then I've been getting the following error message:

W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG C36D009402B243C8 Launchpad Peppermint
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 5A9BF3BB4E5E17B5 Launchpad PPA for chromium-daily
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG B725097B3ACC3965 Launchpad lffl

What to do?

Open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) then try running these commands in sequence:
Code:
sudo apt-get clean

then
Code:
sudo mv -v /var/lib/apt/lists /var/lib/apt/lists.broken

then
Code:
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/apt/lists/partial

then
Code:
sudo apt-get update

Did that clear the BADSIG errors ?

W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG B725097B3ACC3965 Launchpad lffl
W: Failed to fetch bzip2:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/cn.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-updates_main_source_Sources Hash Sum mismatch

W: Failed to fetch bzip2:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/security.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise-security_main_source_Sources Hash Sum mismatch

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Can you pastebin the FULL output from:
Code:
sudo apt-get update

and
Code:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list; for X in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*; \
do echo; echo; echo "** $X:"; echo; cat $X; done

The above is all one command .. so copy and pate the whole thing into the terminal.

Then bung the output on pastebin and post a link.

Can you also tell me where in the world you are ?

And did you say this was an attempt at an INLINE UPGRADE rather than a fresh install ?

"Then bung the output on pastebin and post a link."

I don't know how to do this.

"Can you also tell me where in the world you are ?"

I live in Kunming, PR China.

"And did you say this was an attempt at an INLINE UPGRADE rather than a fresh install ?"

My upgrade was a new installation.

The BADSIG errors have cleared up. I still have a problem with a failed attempt to add bzip.

AFAIK .. bzip2 should already be installed .. what's your problem, and how did you try to install "bzip" ?

The BADSIG issue was the main problem. I forget why I tried install bzip. How? I forget but probably with Synaptic package manager. I do not consider it as big a problem as the BADSIG problem.
