What makes you think you need a previous version of flashplayer ?

Have you tried purging and reinstalling flashplayer ?
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-installer

then
Code:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

then close ALL web browser instances and reopen one.

Now test flash on somewhere like youtube.

If that doesn't help. what's the output from:
Code:
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep sse

and
Code:
uname -a

and
Code:
dpkg -l | grep flash

tried it and it don't work... I got the same results you did when i entered your codes for grep...

I been through this on both linux mint and antix forums, the new flash does not work with older processors like my 650mhz P3,
the only solution was to go backwards to flash 11.1 that one works....

I will run these new codes before I quit for the day, I found your old codes from when i asked this question a few weeks ago and those codes were different then these i just noticed that now so I will try new codes now... and let you know what happens...

Edit: NO LUCK....
here is the results of the codes you asked for I tried both firefox and chromium both say missing plugin...

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep sse
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 mtrr pge mca cmov pse36 mmx fxsr sse up

uname -a
Linux gateway9300pro-Solo-9300-Pro 3.2.0-60-generic #91-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 19 03:55:18 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

dpkg -l | grep flash
ii flashplugin-installer 11.2.202.341ubuntu0.12.04.1 Adobe Flash Player plugin installer

You're right, your CPU doesn't support sse2 so the 11.2.202 version of Adobes flash player won't work.

OK, uninstall flashplugin-installer:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-installer

create the necessary directory for the flashplayer plugin:
Code:
mkdir -p ~/.mozilla/plugins

change directory to that directory:
Code:
cd ~/.mozilla/plugins

download the 32bit 11.1 flashplayer archive from my dropbox:
Code:
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11876059/flashplayer-11.1-32bit.tar.gz

unpack the archive:
Code:
tar xvf flashplayer-11.1-32bit.tar.gz

now close ALL web browser instances and re-open Chromium

Test Flash

Well this has worked on both firefox and chromium browsers...

My next question is how can I lock this version into place so it don't get updated by the next system update...
If I remember correctly you use synaptic and find flash player and i think in there i can set this to lock....

Historically that was the place flashplayer went in Linux .. so even though it's a ".mozilla" directory, other web browsers look there too (even if Firefox isn't installed) ;)

That version is already locked .. as far as the package management system is concerned you don't have a flashplayer installed, so it's not going to update it.
