Just recently installed Peppermint two and noticed there was no longer a mint style software update manager in the taskbar. Is that normal now, do we use the ubuntu styled one, and if all the updates are installed is that ok. I hadn't used peppermint since one, and was a bit confused by the difference.

You can access the "update manager", the "software manager" and the "synaptic packages manager" from the main menu, in clicking on the peppermint logo (in the corner). They are located in the "system tools" menu.

I am pretty sure that:
Most updates for pep-2 are from ubuntu `natty' repository.
Custom updates for peppermint are included as `kendalltweaver/peppermint' ppa

via `update manager'
