Thank you for the latest ice re spin, when i turn my Acer 5536 laptop on i see something flash up about user id and then it continues fine,i was just wondering what the id thing is?
Can i just ask if on the next re spin there can be some thing included like on the Ubuntu distros, where you can right click on the sound icon and you can then go to system preferences and turn the volume up all the way,i find that my Acer 5536 laptop is very poor at sound,i did post here before and was told to use i think it was called Alsa but when i have used Ubuntu distros and turned the system prefs to full volume i sometimes have to turn the sound down.
Thank you.

Ignore the id line, it is a bug that has been around for some time, I believe they say in the kernel, but it seems no one has figured out a way to remove it, or else they haven't bothered, not sure. As far as sound, do a search for pulesaudio, I spent nearly a day going over this recently, so I know it has been covered.

Yeah, the glib warning is in the kernel. It's actually present on all Ubuntu based distros however it's often masked by the login manager (lxdm takes control of the display much later in the boot process than does gdm or kdm). Getting rid of this means completely moving away from the Ubuntu kernel builds, which is something I want to do but I simply don't have the time and resources to be able to do just yet.

Work on the new Peppermint Two is progressing, so keep an eye out for it when it is released. It should be really good!

Glad to hear of your continued enjoyment of Peppermint. As mentioned there has been good progress on Peppermint Two thus far so look forward to some interesting developments in the near future.
