The results for eeepc's seem to be decidedly mixed. I'd like to sample an opinion and see if we should have a sticky thread for eeepc issues generally?

I think that would be a fantastic idea. I'm extremely satisfied running this OS aside from the hotkeys problems related to my eee pc and the other small nuisances relating to pcmanfm, etc. It just needs a couple of tweaks here and there to be perfect.

I'm using peppermint ice on my EEEpc 1005ha I don't have issues with the hot keys except I have to

Run 'sudo gedit /etc/default/grub'

Edit the line with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and to look like

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor"

save then sudo update-grub

This worked well in Peppermint ICE though I am yet to experiment this on Pepper2

Hello everyone.

I just wanted to say thanks to Kendall for Peppermint. Excellent distro. I just installed it on Asus EEE Pc 4G Surf and it is smoking!!! I will be testing it the next few days and customize it to my needs (greek language, extra software, etc.). Very good job, everything works out of the box.

Not to diminish Debian's worth but Squeeze had me struggling with wireless, EEEBuntu that I had before that was a bit outdated, Xandros I thought was a bit slow... Anyway...

The only thing I had trouble finding and was almost ready to give up was the trick about min_disk_size as mentioned in another thread... May I suggest it gets included in the user documentation till the next spinoff is ready (as Kendall said, it will be included). More users would benefit from that.

Again, congratulations for the fine work and thank you very much.
