I would assume it stands for "window manager control", yes? Plus, why not make your life easier and just use Compiz?

Yeah... hmmm.... uhmmm... ya may be right.

Not much of a performance hit, right?

So... got a good link on "how to" install compiz in peppermint ice?

Thanks. Mint is my new favorite flavor.

It's been a while, but I believe if you just search in Synaptic for simple-ccsm it will install all the dependencies for compiz

Actually not solved.

I'm not sure how to activate it.

Installed simple ccsm, compiz, CCSM, and I have no idea how to "make it work"

Activating Compiz in LXDE (or any desktop) is easy.

Once you have Compiz installed, open a terminal and type: compiz --replace. That will activate Compiz. Your panel might disappear at first but it should come back (mine did.) After you've done that, play around with it and make sure it's working correctly.

Now, to autostart Compiz when you boot up in Peppermint. For Ice, go to: /etc/xdg/lxsession/peppermint_ice/autostart and for One, go to : /etc/xdg/lxsession/peppermint/autostart (open the autostart file with leafpad, you'll need root rights to edit it.) You'll see a list of programs, add @compiz to the list and save the file. Then, when you log out and log back in or reboot or whatever, Compiz will automatically start.

As far as I can tell, Compiz works just as well in LXDE as it doest in Gnome.

Thank you thank you thank you for the answer to compiz. I won't implement it right now as it is rather late and I'm very tired, but I am confident that what you have presented is the solution. I shall give it a spin tomorrow. Thanks again

No problem. I actually found that information in 2 other threads but, rather than copy and paste the links, I just posted the information here.

I got the snap to work in Peppermint One using the commands you posted (and after I remembered to install wmctrl  ) It works really well, thanks for posting that information. :)

Completely, but enlightenment and Peppermint don`t play well together, lol. I tried. ;)

You can use other low resource distro that has enlightenment, like MacPup.
