Hi guys,
I'm using PepperMintOS ICE and I'm very happy...
I have a Motorola Milestone mobile-phone, running Android OS, and I would like to know how can I use this cellphone as a modem (AKA tethering) at my PepperMintOS ...
Thanks for any answer!
Bye,
JM:. From Brasil...

Welcome to our forums. Have you tried a Motorola Milestone or a Rooting/ROM for Android forum? If that forum gets you tethering, I am sure Peppermint Ice and many other distributions and/or operating systems will be able to connect to it. Unfortunately Peppermint OS is not able to provide direct support your phone's features. One or more of our users here may be in the same situation as you and reply back with how they enabled it though. If you get tethering enabled on your phone and have trouble using the network applet, included in Peppermint, to connect to it, please let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Well there are a few options. You can pay your service provider to allow tethering (either USB or wifi) or you have to "root" the phone which WILL void your warranty/insurance/carrier support.
I won't talk about rooting here since it is completely separate from Peppermint and is an android support issue.
As far as Peppermint is concerned wifi tethering is the same as connecting to any other wireless access point. If you opt for USB tethering it will show up in the network manager on the panel as "Wired Network", mine is Auto usb0 (using an HTC EVO/Supersonic).
Hope that helps.
