I love the widgets; any chance of sharing more info about them (e.g. links and how to install them)?

Sorry for the off-topic!

No prob, as long as the mods/admins don't mind... 8-)

Have fun!

I was just updating my Ghostery extension options (in Chromium).

While I'm thinking about it, here's my list of 'unblocked' trackers (one beacon and a few widgets):

    Image

The only websites I 'whitelist' are:

    - YouTube (blocking ads make some videos inaccessible - "An error has occurred. Please try again later.")
    - My production web sites (so I can maintain/administrate them)

Works for me... :)

Here's my Christmas Gift to the community...

I updated the Peppermint OS Wikipedia page to include Peppermint Four Re-spin. :D

    Image

I changed the 'Latest stable release' to 'Peppermint-4-20131113 (near the top of the page)', plus I added an 'External Link' for 'Peppermint OS at DistroWatch' (toward the bottom). There's a 'notability warning' on the page concerning adding reliable, secondary sources. I've been a registered user at Wikipedia since 2007. Hopefully, this gesture will help.

We'll see if it sticks. Sometimes 'they' redact my edits, for whatever reason - such are wikis. Heh!

TVM :)

There are a few inaccuracies in the wikipedia entry that might need looking at at some point.

Welcome!

I *thought* there were some inaccuracies, too, but I didn't recognize the names/nicks of the users that made those entries/edits sooooo I let them be. Some of them had IP addys, which means they weren't even made by users and/or they weren't logged in.

I figured, if you guys want to do some housecleaning, you can -- didn't want to step on too many toes, you know? ;)

I started the worst part of doing a fresh install -- worst for me, that is -- setting up my email. Takes me a day or two... :o

First thing I do is install the Thunderbird client. I have over a dozen personal/business email accounts. For the most part, web mail doesn't do it for me. I much prefer a good IMAP client. Also, I like to invoke K.I.S.S. on Peppermint installs -- no custom Thunderbird extensions, themes, blah, blah, blah -- just a couple of essentials.

Here's one of them... Offer to 'share' large files on Ubu One, rather than attach them:

    Image

Another 'essential' (for laptops) is scaling back the fonts, et cetera, to fit your display:

    Image

For Web Mail, Web-ICQ, et cetera, I create SSBs:

    Image

A 'trick' I use, when creating SSBs, is to store the icons in '/usr/share/pixmaps', where they're safe and sound -- that's where 'Ice' looks for them, anyway. I generally use 256x256 pixel .png files for this purpose. Many websites don't use .ico files (why -- I don't know), so choosing 'Download Icon' seldom works for me. Using your own icons is more fun anyway.

Installing this stuff on Peppermint Four Re-spin is simple! Configuring them for all of my accounts is a PITA. LoL! :D
