I want to change the size of the lxterm window that pops up when I do a ctrl+alt+t key combination. I've already added a --geometry= to the line in the openbox config file for lxterminal, and to a custom lxterminal.desktop file in ~/.local/share.applications which took care of a few of the other ways I launch lxterm, but I can't figure out what file is responsible for invoking lxterm when ctrl+alt+t is pressed.

If you mean in Peppermint 4

You can edit the command run by the keyboard shortcuts in

menu > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts

=======================================================

or manually edit the

~/.xbindkeysrc

file.

The section you're after looks like this by default
Code:
#Terminal
"x-terminal-emulator"
   Control+Alt + t

I forgot to specify, I am using Peppermint 3. I don't think there is a keyboard-shortcuts option in 3. At least, it's not in my system settings. Clicking on "keyboard" in the system settings menu does not. Somehow some of my system settings have become broken.

Anyway, I usually prefer just interacting with the config files, I learn a lot that way. It looks like the .xbindkeys.rc file is a bit different in Peppermint 3, as I don't see that line or anything that looks like it, so I can't tell if this is where the ctrl+alt+t key shortcut for the terminal is being invoked.

I've done a quite a bit of googling about this, but most of the suggestions pertain to Ubuntu. Many of them indicate that the keyboard shortcut settings are window-manager specific, but I couldn't find any config files for xfwm4 that list keybindings.

Try looking in:-

~/.config/openbox/peppermint-rc.xml

IIRC, that's where the keyboard shortcuts used to be defined.

I see that now. I didn't realize that executing lxterminal and x-terminal-emulator loads the same thing. Thanks again for your help.
