OK, we're close by now....
When I start Live CD Peppermint 3 with nomodeset there are no probs anymore. One disadvantage.... I have to set the resolution by hand.... (1440-900)

Can I fix that in Grub?

Yup .. first of all, lets try just nomodeset in the installed version and see if it remembers the resolution (which it should):
Code:
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub

find the line that reads:-

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

and change it to:-

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset"

SAVE the file and close gedit.

Open a terminal and run:
Code:
sudo update-grub

Reboot to test.

I already was there but the resolution will not be remembered... So we are on the half, no shitty screen anymore. Just the last part, 1440x900@60 permanent..

OK thank you all who helped me. It was just so simple....... :oops:

Just add NOMODESET in Grub, reboot, adjust resolution manually, save (!!!!! I forgot to do that after apply...) and reboot. fixed!

Well, I just couldn't stand it it took so much "effort" to make it work.

I reinstalled Peppermint OS 3 and after the install I did the normal update by the update manager. After the restart I made the next steps in Terminal:

Quote:
sudo apt-get update

and after that:

Quote:
sudo apt-upgrade

After that I saw some "X-org", "conf" etc etc etc coming in my screen and that solved the problem.

So no grub tweak is needed. By the way, Peppermint booted a lot faster after that...
