Just got Peppermint installed on this ancient beast and it works suprisingly well. It has a whoppping 768mb of ram and 64mb of that is dedicated to the gpu. The little 1.6ghz Sempron runs really smooth all things considered.

Did have a little trouble with the Broadcom wifi adaptor halting the install. Got the error codes b43-ucode.fw and b43-open/ucode.fw and then the installation would just hang. Being completely new to *nix based software made it an interesting first time but nothing a little Googling couldn't fix. Overall I'm pretty impressed so far.

Well done .. a lot of people give up at the first little issue :)

Glad to hear you're liking Peppermint.

I think its permanently resolved now, i never face this problem.

No it's not. A few weeks ago I managed to mess up my root privileges so I had to do a complete reinstall. I misplaced my Peppermint3 copy so I had to dl a fresh copy. I had to jump threw the same hoops as the first time I installed this distro.
It is not "permanently resolved".

Everybody ignore the "person" who said this was solved. That wasn't a real post, it was likely copied and pasted from somewhere else, because that was a spammer who has now been dealt with.
