I am finally back. Well, I've been here but have been unable to run Peppermint for a week. This is just me, happy to have Pmint running again. This is not required reading. :)

I'm working, traveling and have been away from home for a few weeks. I use my netbook for myself and to keep the work XP netbook off the internet.

I was running Peppermint on sda2 which was working fine, until I decided to install
Lmde on sda5, and with lmde's grub.
Then, I had Lmde but Peppermint would no longer boot.

I couldn't get the Peppermint iso to install from a USB created in Lmde with unetbootin on ext2 and usb-creator isn't in the Lmde repo. No CD drive available.

[Edit: Unetbootin works from Lmde: format the USB as Fat32, install and boot. :? ]

The Lmde is a great way to get Debian testing running, but I prefer Peppermint.
Seems faster, less filling, tastes great. ;) I have rolled with kanotix, sidux then testing for a few years and currently prefer stability. I am the greatest danger to stability. Apparent incessant need to change things till they break.

LinuxMint and Peppermint are much more conducive to "Getting Things Done!"
But curiosity is a merciless affliction.

Thanks for letting me rant. You can get on with your life now;
happier in the knowledge that someone found a new way to break their box. ;)
