(I hope this is the right place to put this.)

For those using conky, this would be a great place to swap scripts, i added the peppermint keybindings to the script that i use on my netbook (8 inch screen) so had to tighten it up a bit to fit,

THANK YOU. I was just going to make a new thread asking for the various conky wizards out there to post their configs.

Awesome!

I'll put mine up in just a bit, but I wanted to ask do you have that set to autostart? If so how did you go about implementing that, I played with that a lot the other day and finally found an alright solution but not great.

I had been using that and it stopped working so I wrote a .desktop file that did the trick.

Here is what mine looks like but I can't get it to display full width, it keeps cutting it off.

And here is the file, if you have an idea on how to get it to display right that would be great
Code:
# — Conky settings — #
#background yes
update_interval 1

cpu_avg_samples 2
net_avg_samples 2

override_utf8_locale yes

double_buffer yes
no_buffers yes

text_buffer_size 1440
imlib_cache_size 0

# — Window specifications — #

own_window yes
#own_window_type override#
own_window_type normal
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_hints undecorate,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager,below

border_inner_margin 0
border_outer_margin 0

minimum_size 1440 5
maximum_width 1440

alignment bm
gap_x 1
gap_y -30

# — Graphics settings — #
draw_shades no
draw_outline no
draw_borders no
draw_graph_borders no

# — Text settings — #
use_xft yes
xftfont Zarautz special:size=24
xftalpha 0.7

uppercase no

default_color 000000

# — Lua Load — #
#lua_load ~/.conky/brush_rings.lua
#lua_draw_hook_pre clock_rings

This was what I got to work consistently on my system.
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=Application
Exec=conky --config=$HOME/.conkyrc
Terminal=false
Name=Conkyrc
NoDisplay=true

That just moves it up and to the left and still doesn't show the full width (1440x900 res BTW). I'm still playing with it.
