The problem here is I have no idea if the phone reporting itself as another model is having an affect on how mtpfs gets configured.

Do you want to try (tempporarily) undoing that registry hack and seeing if it helps .. and/or would you like to try compiling the latest version of libmtp 1.1.6 (as opposed to the 1.1.5 that's in the repos) ?

Thanks for once more for the response and for taking the time to look into this issue. Unfortunately I cannot recall the initial registry values so I guess that there is no turning back at this point! :?

Good news is that I will soon upgrade my LG to an actual Nokia Lumia, so I will try connecting my new phone and see what I get from the commands you mentioned previously; if the phone is not properly recognized I will let you know by reviving this topic. :)
