Hi,

So I just got some snazzy bluetooth headphones and a little bluetooth dongle for my Acer Aspire One D270-1395, running Peppermint 4.

I can't seem to get 'em to work. In the bluetooth manager it says the headphones are connected to my computer but when I play music in Guayadeque it still plays through the speakers of the netbook and nothing through the headphones.

I am hoping someone has some tips to get me going in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think of is, if you have PulseAudio installed, open that and make sure the headphones are selected as the playback device when you have them connected. I know, it should do it automatically, but these things don't always work as they should.

Thanks.

I don't have PulseAudio installed. I have the pre-installed sound mixer "Alsa," which doesn't seem to do anything.

Try installing PulseAudio .. open a terminal and run:
Code:
sudo apt-get install pulseaudio pulseaudio-utils pavucontrol

now go to:-

menu > Sound & Video > PulseAudio Volume Control

Go to the "Output Devices" tab

and try changing

Port: Speakers

to

Port: <Whatever the USB headphones are listed as>

Thanks.

That didn't seem to do anything. When I open Bluetooth Manager and choose my device, I choose Set Up, then I choose the option "A2DP Sink (Send Audio)."

Then I get the message: "Device added successfully, but failed to connect."

OK, looks like a bluetooth issue rather than audio .. dunno if I can help here, I've never really messed with bluetooth as I don't use it .. so I've never read up on how it works under Linux.

Maybe someone else can help.

If I get time, I'll try to read up on it .. I suppose I should .. but kinda busy ATM ;)

Thanks for your help.

No rush on looking it up (and please don't do it on my account).

I really appreciate your help.

The only bluetooth device I have is a keyboard for my tablet, so I don't think I'm going to be any help either.
