Post subject:  Wireless networks available [SOLVED]

Hello -a
First post here. After doing some searching I am unable to find the info I am looking for.

Today when starting up my computer I hastily clicked "dont show this message again" on the dialog box that lets me know that multiple wireless connections are available. Now I actually liked that message, and would like to see it again. Can anyone please let me know how to undo what I have done?
Thanks in advance,

Welcome to Peppermint.
Open a terminal and run...
sudo apt update && sudo apt install gconf-editor

Then go to...
Menu > System Tools > Configuration Editor
In Configuration Editor, expand the "apps" folder and open "nm-appelt." There you will find several options.
On the "Value" side (right) check or uncheck "suppress-wireless-networks-available" as desired.

You may need to reboot for changes to take effect (unsure and not able to test it right now). Can't hurt.

mac, first off I want to say you are a gangster in my book for answering both of my questions. 1000 thanks.

I tried before I posted installing gconf, however the only value in nm applet is "stamp 3"

After reading your reply, I ran the code exactly as you typed it to make sure it was updated, and also I restarted my laptop. However the only value is still "stamp 3"

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Okay, run...
sudo gedit /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.nm-applet.gschema.xml

Scroll down until you find....

<key type="b" name="suppress-wireless-networks-available">
      <summary>Suppress networks available notifications</summary>
<description>Set this to true to disable notifications when Wi-Fi networks are available.</description>

to read...

Save your changes (File > Save)

You may have to reboot for the change to take effect. My laptops are both P3 installs
so I can't test it for you. P4, I discovered, does not have the options I posted in
the nm-applet (my bad).

If that fails, you can run...
sudo gsettings set org.gnome.nm-applet suppress-wireless-networks-available false

Should do it for you.
