I must take the time to read the changelog for 3.12 ... a few people have reported it's helped with various issues :)

If you wish.

I'm involved in the +1 testing community on Ubuntu Forums. Putting Humpty Dumpty back together again is half the fun. So, you can leave it like it is, and let users figure it out for themselves. Or, you can fix the "various issues" for them, and spoil their fun. LoL!

Not sure which camp you're in...

I author a Conky script that's used on all seven continents, but I don't support it -- never will -- for that very reason. It's fulfilling, fixing problems yourself.

Personally, I cannot stand it when things "just work". But, having said that, having WiFi 1000 miles away from home is rather nice, you know?

Just saying...

Well yeah I love fixin stuff, otherwise I wouldn't be on here would I ?

That said, the Ubuntu forums drive me up the wall .. too many people who "think" they know what they're talking about .. so you kinda have to know your stuff just to sort the wheat from the chaff, or even the downright dangerous.

Too much like Windows forums for me ;)

True.

You make friends and enemies over there, like any other forum. And,after a while, you know whom to listen to, and whom to use as negative example(s) of how not to do things.

They do a good job of sorting out the troublemakers, but tend to be a little overzealous at times.

I had a friend from Canada that was doing tech support for me. He has a 185 IQ, is colorblind, and (unfortunately) was cursed with a photographic memory, e.g. can't forget anything / let it slide.

Really, you need to take things like that into consideration before banishment, but... whatever.

Anyway, yes, you need to walk on eggshells over there. That's the good and bad of it, for me. 8-)

I don't like the larger forums, no sense of "community", and too many idiots.

There are idiots on most large forums .. but Ubuntu seem to have the cream of the crop.

Hmm .. wonder why I suddenly seem to have a penchant for farming metaphors
