I just upgraded to the newer Peppermint . I'm unable to stream live broadcasts of radio stations as I was able to do with Peppermint 3. (ie: KBAQ in Pheonix AZ) I get the little puzzle-piece icon, couldn't load plugin, and a message just below the bookmarks bar that says "Could not load mplayerplug-in is now gecko mediaplayer 1.0.8.

It appears that I have gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.8 installed, but when I pull up the media player under menu>sound&video, the media player that comes up is Gnome MPlayer.

Any idea how to get the media player to stream live radio?Hope you can help me.Just reply me or send me an E-mail:dong@huanetwork.com.Thank you very much!

gecko-mediaplayer in raring (and therefore Peppermint 4) is broken .. but the version from the upcoming trusty tahr (Ubuntu 14.04) works perfectly in Peppermint 4.

Download the version for your architecture from the links below:-

32bit
gecko-mediaplayer_1.0.8-4ubuntu1_i386.deb

64bit
gecko-mediaplayer_1.0.8-4ubuntu1_amd64.deb

Then double click it to install .. it will probably tell you there's an older version in the repos, just ignore that and continue.

Once installed, close ALL web browser instances (to unload the old version from memory) then reopen your browser to test.

=======================================================

If you're unsure of your architecture, run:
Code:
uname -a

if the output includes:-

i686 = 32bit
amd_64 = 64bit
