hello, I just installed docky, but there are only a few 'helpers' on the bar. when I click the anchor, there are more helpers to choose from(banshee for example), but when I click them, the do not appear as an icon on the bar.

I don't use docky, so don't know how much help I'll be, but is Banshee even installed on your system ?

What exactly is a "helper" .. do you mean a "launcher" ? (icon that launches an application)

If you run:
Code:
pcmanfm /usr/share/applications

are you able to drag'n'drop the launchers from there to docky ?

DO NOT prefix that command with "sudo" .. you don't want to remove files from that directory, or they'll disappear from the menu's

According to this:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?top ... 9#msg88709
that should work.

IIRC we had problems getting the first one to "stick" but after that it worked.

Try dragging them from
/usr/share/applications
again.

Ahh .. I remember now, we needed to upgrade the version of pcmanfm and libfm before dran'n'drop would work.

See this posting:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?top ... 7#msg88697
and run those 4 commands to upgrade pcmanfm/libfm to the versions in my PPA

Once you've run those commands .. log off and on again (or reboot) .. then try dragging and dropping from:
/usr/share/applications
